The sparrow’s been having a lot of fluttering practice around my apartment recently, mostly in the bathroom. He’s not fully competent yet and bonks into things and falls, so God’s attention must really be on us a lot.

Here he is on the day I found him, and here he is a few days later, having just demonstrated his ability to fly a whole ten feet. In a few more days he’ll be ready for release.

Same-sex marriages start July 24. You have almost a whole month to get your license and your veils or your cummerbunds or whatever.
Apparently I can draw Germans only when they are somehow monstrous. Herman is a nicer monster than Günter, at least.
“Cover position” is a real thing that you can see here, just with no wing when Rattus norvegicus does it. I’m sure that this keeps the babies a bit safer from predators, but it looks uncomfortable for everyone.
I don’t consider myself a hero. I just did what anyone else would have done in my place.
