Opt Out
I’ll go back to being funny again on Monday.
By now I’m sure you’ve heard plenty about the new TSA security theater. I have too, more than enough to horrify me, but so far I haven’t heard anyone make the comparison to the Milgram experiments. But they were the first thing I thought of when I heard that Americans were being asked to sexually assault other Americans in the name of safety. Is this the country my mother’s family fought the British to secure for their children? Is this the freedom in whose name my uncle went ashore at Normandy?

AMEN. Forgive me as I now post a bunch of links, but I think they’re important.
Anyone considering flying within the US anytime soon (like next week), please read this short item if you haven’t already:

Also, here’s a link to the guy’s riveting blog post, with embedded videos:

(And yes, this is the “You touch my junk and I’ll have you arrested” guy.)
It’s useful to know what all the TSA people will be thinking about & acting on next week. ALSO, even if you, the reader, don’t opt out, a national movement is building and will cause day-before-Thanksgiving delays at your (U.S.) airport, so be advised:

Finally (I promise), an excellent, thoughtful addition, from the Russian Times of all places. Video, 3mins 52secs.
